What Furniture should you Dismantle?
Before we start talking about just some of the furniture that you should dismantle before moving house or whatever, don’t forget that you can use TransTrip to dismantle your furniture for you. You can do some (or all!) of this yourself if you want to though. Furniture removal can be quite time consuming at times so why not let TransTrip take care of all of it for you?
Firstly, you’ll need to make sure that you have plenty of tools available like screwdrivers, a wrench etc. Once you’ve got all the tools sorted out then you might want to get a few empty plastic containers (or something similar) that you can use to keep all of the screws and so on together. The last thing that you want to do is end up not knowing one screw from another when both screws are from different pieces of furniture. So, what types of furniture do we recommend that you dismantle before it’s loaded up in the truck to be moved? Here are some pieces of furniture that we think you should dismantle before moving it:
Tables / Desks
Some tables and desks can take up a good bit of space in a truck so you might want to think about dismantling it so that you can fit in other pieces of furniture rather than paying extra money for another truck for example. It shouldn’t take too long to dismantle something like a desk, but don’t forget that you’ll need to reassemble it too! This time all adds up so if you don’t think you’ve got the time to do this you can always use TransTrip to sort you out! Not only this, but some large tables might need to be dismantled so that it can fit through your doors.
It’s common enough to need to dismantle some of a sofa in order to make it fit through a door. If you’re moving house then we’d recommend that you take some measurements of how much room you’ve got in both your old home and your new home to see whether you’ll need to dismantle your sofa or not. In most cases the legs of the sofa will cause the problem, so all you need to do is remove the legs to make it fit through the door which isn’t too much work.
Here are TransTrip, we spend a lot of time dismantling entertainment centres. You’ve probably spent hours setting up your entertainment centre and it could easily take hours to dismantle it too! If you own a large entertainment centre it’ll more than likely have lots of screws in it which can be quite confusing when you’re trying to put it back together. If you’re not sure if you’d be able to put it back together properly feel free to get in touch with us and we’ll help you out.
